Why we’ve funded this campaign:

In Bangladesh, 36% of children don’t finish secondary school, and the average literacy rate hovers at 76%. We know that education is key to helping this generation break free from the cycle of poverty and reach for a brighter future.

The Dream School Project aligns with our core values. It will:

  • Provide access to quality education as a fundamental right
  • Address educational disparities, bringing schools to under-served communities
  • Build brighter futures by empowering children with knowledge and skills

Progress

What is the objective?

Our goal is clear and ambitious: to provide quality education to 1,500 children living in Sylhet’s slum areas, empowering them to overcome barriers and achieve their dreams.

Who does this campaign help?

The Dream Schools are established in Sylhet’s slum areas.

Offering basic education and free healthcare, the Dream Schools relieve financial burden on families, who no longer have to worry about the expenses of schooling and medical treatment. The Dream Schools will prepare students for reintegration in the conventional education system. As it continues, the project will contribute towards a healthier, happier, and more hopeful environment for everyone in the community.

How has this campaign been going?

The campaign has been making remarkable progress, with 30 schools established in Sylhet so far. Additionally, two healthcare centres offer treatment and free medicine, supporting the overall wellbeing of the community.

How has this campaign changed lives?

Our Dream School campaign has transformed the educational landscape in Sylhet, giving 1,500 children access to quality education and opportunities for a better future.

What’s next for this campaign?

We want to expand Dream School to reach more under-served communities in Sylhet and beyond. Next steps:

  • Scaling up: We plan to establish more Dream Schools in new slum areas, serving a greater number of children in need.
  • Enhancing educational quality: We’re investing in teacher training, curriculum development, and infrastructure to deliver a well-rounded and enriching educational experience.
  • Measuring impact: We’ll measure impact through rigorous monitoring and evaluation processes, allowing us to (a) assess effectiveness and (b) make data-driven decisions to improve educational outcomes.
