Delivering aid to IDPs in Lebanon
By : Salam, on November 28, 2024
In October 2024, cross-border attacks intensified and more than 3,600 buildings in Lebanon were damaged or destroyed. At least 1.3 million people fled from their homes. Salam Charity despatched a team to support people and families who were left with nothing.
Aid for 600 people
Our global network enables us to provide emergency responses in times of crisis. When the bombings in Lebanon rendered thousands homeless, we worked hard to raise awareness and deliver your donations.
As a result of our supporters’ enduring generosity, we delivered aid including:
- 595 hot meals
- 620 litres of drinking water
- 30 food parcels
- 16 boxes of nappies and formula
- 55 blankets and 62 hygiene kits
The extra mile
We know that psychological support is needed almost as much as essentials, so we work hard to deliver hope and a bit of ‘normality’ to people, especially children, who are feeling lost and afraid.
In Lebanon, our team organised sports, games and haircuts for children on the sites where they were delivering supplies.
As always, we spent time meeting people to learn how we can help them. One vulnerable family had lost everything in the bombings, so we sourced and gave them a washing machine, fridge, mattresses and bedding.
How you can help
The devastation in Lebanon will take a long time to resolve. So it’s vital that we don’t forget the people there. We’ll keep in contact with our local team and continue supporting communities, delivering immediate relief and fostering long-term recovery. It’s especially important to identify and help vulnerable families and children.
You can help. Please support our ongoing work in Lebanon by giving whatever you can.
